A few things to know before your consult

Welcome to eVisitNB. A quick read so your visit goes smoothly — who we can help, how the wait works, and exactly what to have ready.

Is it an emergency?

Call 911 or go to the Emergency Department for chest pain, trouble breathing, severe bleeding, signs of stroke, or thoughts of self-harm. Not sure how serious your symptoms are? Try the New Brunswick symptom checker first.

Important service information

How eVisitNB fits in

Your first point of contact should always be your primary healthcare provider — your family doctor, nurse practitioner, or NB Health Link. Here's where we help.

If you don't have a primary provider

We can help with your medical concerns, plus any routine investigations or referrals to specialists.

If you can't reach your provider in time

We can help with non-urgent medical concerns, including any appropriate investigations.

Without a primary provider? Accessing Healthcare lists community resources you can use — Tele-Care 811, mental health and addictions support, and pharmacists.
No waiting room

How the wait works

Sometimes there's a wait to see a provider — but you won't spend it in a waiting room.

Go about your day, and we'll simply text you when a provider is available to see you. On days when demand is much higher than normal, waits can extend past six hours. If that happens, we'll notify you that your request is cancelled so you can choose another option — your primary care provider, Tele-Care 811, your pharmacist, or an after-hours clinic. Prefer to keep waiting? Just resubmit your request.
