Getting started
How do I book a visit?
Register on eVisitNB, describe your concern, choose how you'd like to connect, and you'll be seen by a New Brunswick nurse practitioner.
Do I need a referral or a family doctor?
No. Anyone in New Brunswick can use eVisitNB, with or without a family provider.
What are your hours?
Registration is open 8 am – 8 pm, 7 days a week.
Cost & coverage
How much does it cost?
A flat C$80 per visit from July 1, 2026, when Medicare coverage for eVisits ends.
Why did coverage change?
Public Medicare coverage for eVisitNB visits ends June 30, 2026. To keep the service available, visits move to a simple pay-per-visit model.
Are medications included in the fee?
No. The visit fee is separate from any medication costs, which depend on your drug coverage and pharmacy.

Who will I see?
A nurse practitioner licensed in New Brunswick, able to assess, diagnose, prescribe, and order tests within their scope.
Can I get a prescription?
Yes, when clinically appropriate. It's sent to your chosen pharmacy. Controlled medications generally can't be prescribed virtually.
What if I need in-person care?
Your nurse practitioner will tell you clearly and direct you to the right place — a clinic, lab, or the ER if needed.
Is it private and secure?
Yes. Visits are encrypted and confidential, following Canadian health-privacy standards.
Conditions
What can be treated online?
Common illnesses and concerns — infections, skin and eye issues, allergies, prescriptions, and mental health, among others.
What can't be treated online?
Emergencies and anything needing a procedure or hands-on exam. Call 911 for emergencies.
Can my child use it?
Many children's concerns can be assessed virtually with a parent or guardian present.
